What sizes do you offer in the recyclable padded mailer?
TemperPack mailers are available in three standard sizes: #2, #5, and #6. Dimensions for each mailer are: #2 mailer is 10”W x 12”H, #5 mailer is 12”W x 15”H, and #6 mailer is 14”W x 18”H. We offer custom mailer sizes for large quantity orders. Contact us to inquire further about customization.
How is TemperPack’s mailer different from traditional mailers and other recyclable padded mailers?
Traditionally, protective mailers used plastic bubbles for padding, either as a plastic padded mailer or encased in a paper mailer. These protective mailers are not widely recyclable because of their plastic content.
Recyclable protective mailers fall into two padding categories: paper-based padding or glue-dot padding. All-paper padded mailers offer significant cushioning and the cleanest recycling stream for MRF facilities. Glue-dot padding is created from expanding glue with heat to form a modest cushion and has been reported to “gum up” recycle streams, causing difficulties for MRFs. TemperPack’s mailer is made of WaveKraft material, a paper-based padding providing 50-80% greater shock absorption compared to other mailers.
Do TemperPack mailers pass ISTA 6 Amazon Overbox testing?
Yes, TemperPack mailers have passed independent lab testing in accordance with the ISTA 6 Amazon Overbox test protocol, which ensures packaging can survive e-commerce fulfillment.
Are TemperPack mailers considered recyclable by How2Recycle®?
Yes, our mailers are certified rated "widely recyclable" by How2Recycle. Mailers are made with 50% recycled paper content and our paper is sourced from FSC-certified paper mills.
Can I replace a small box with a padded mailer?
Yes, you can with a TemperPack padded mailer. Our mailer’s innovative structure and gusset design lets you place round items inside, which previously could only fit inside a box. The robust padding is made of WaveKraft material and provides 50-80% greater shock absorption compared to other mailers. TemperPack’s mailer replaces the need for small boxes, no assembly or void fill required, minimal pack-out time and storage space, lower DIM weight and shipping costs, reduces carbon footprint, and provides the same curbside recyclability.
What is the gusseted design on the TemperPack mailer?
The gusset design allows the mailer to expand its shape by turning a flat design into a three-dimensional shape that can hold more items and rounder items. Typically, a gusset is an extra piece of material added to the side of an item like a bag, but TemperPack’s mailer achieves its three-dimensional form from its unique design and the WaveKraft material it’s made of, and gives it the ability to cradle and wrap around items.
What types of items can be shipped in a TemperPack recyclable padded mailer?
Our mailer offers more internal capacity than other recyclable and standard mailers because of its unique gusseted design and WaveKraft material. We suggest ordering a sample and testing the size you may need before placing an order.
#2 mailer: Fits multiple of small items such as cosmetics, pill bottles, beauty items, jewelry, pens, electronics, small notebooks, jams, cell phone.
#5 mailer: Fits narrower round items such as supplement containers and pouches, 8.5 x 11” notebook, headphones, candies.
#6 mailer: Fits larger flat and round items such as an electronic tablet, water bottle, padfolio, shampoos, soft clothing, toys.
Can I customize or print on TemperPack’s recyclable padded mailer design?
Yes, color printing is available on our padded mailers, minimum order quantities do apply. Our packaging engineers can design a mailer to fit your specific e-commerce shipping needs, customizing size and padding, available for enterprise customers.
