TemperPack is a rapidly growing company based in Richmond, Virginia and Las Vegas, NV. We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used in the cold-chain, such as Styrofoam coolers. Description:

The Senior Accountant will support the business by providing valuable decision support analysis. In addition, this role will support the development of TemperPack’s financial controls infrastructure as the Company continues to grow. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for month-end closing activities to include preparing journal entries, maintaining financial reporting schedules, reconciling general ledger accounts and providing guidance and interpretation on accounting policies and procedures; all in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Senior Accountant must be able to work directly with Senior Management on a regular basis to address accounting issues within critical accounts while taking direct ownership and responsibility of assigned tasks and projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform monthly closing procedures in moderate to key financial areas to produce financial statements in a timely manner and prepare account analysis and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Create, maintain, and use sophisticated, organized spreadsheets, to calculate related journal entries and/or perform analysis
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, including subjective accounting areas that require strong analytical skills as a basis for reconciling differences and resolving issues
  • Analyze and update inventory activity along with appropriate adjustments for various stages of the product and identify and resolve inventory reconciling items
  • Assist in preparation of financial and operating reports
  • Reconcile G/L accounts, resolve pending items, develop journal entries where appropriate
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and process improvement efforts
  • Other duties as necessitated by the business

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university, required
  • 4-8 years of general accounting experience or 3+ years of public accounting experience
  • CPA preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Superb analytical skills
  • Above-average problem-solving and time management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with proven project management capabilities
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 15 pounds unassisted
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
