Job Description:

The Maintenance Manager will play an integral role by ensuring the performance, effectiveness, reliability and safety of all manufacturing equipment. The candidate will offer expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems while adhering to strict safety standards. The Maintenance Manager will take ownership of implementing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program. The candidate will lead, organize and coordinate preventive and functional maintenance initiatives on equipment, and will direct and supervise personnel to ensure timely completion of projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design, implement and maintain a robust functional and preventive maintenance program across all manufacturing assets to ensure full utilization of manufacturing equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise all maintenance initiatives to ensure constant reliability of equipment and reduce any manufacturing downtime
  • Document and classify maintenance history logs, incident reports and equipment failures in a clear, organized and easily accessible manner.
  • Monitors performance of direct-reports, provide coaching and mentorship and help facilitate internal programs to prevent, identify and correct unsafe conditions or equipment.
  • Routinely examine and inspect all tool and equipment; accountable for implementing and maintaining spare-part programs, and to provide recommendations for capital expenditures that increases efficiency and/or safety.
  • Discuss and solve complex engineering challenges with manufacturers, local vendors, suppliers and internally.
  • Manage supplier relationships and component sourcing.
  • Other duties the business may necessitate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of stock key parts, lubrication, calibration, welding, fitting, rigging, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and expertise dealing with mechanical systems such as conveyor, pumps, chains, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards and use proper judgement in responding to them
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations

Experience:

  • 10-yr+ experience working in an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 5-yr+ experience in a managerial or leadership position

Education and Certifications:

  • High School diploma required

Physical Requirements:

  • Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
  • Able to lift 25 pounds unassisted
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
