sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical

Job Description:

The Director of Human Resources will have responsibility for full human resources activities in
two TemperPack locations in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have strong
experience developing relationships, managing HR teams, implementing compliant processes,
and making sound decisions. This role requires a self-starter, who can work autonomously with a
high-level of accountability.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the human resources department in assigned geographical
  • Responsible for full life cycle recruiting of hourly/salaried workforce
  • Manages the performance management and annual review process in assigned locations
  • Manages disciplinary procedures consistent with TemperPack’s Progressive Discipline System for hourly and salaried employees
  • Thoroughly conducts investigations and determines appropriate resolution
  • Identifies long-term goals for the human resources department
  • Collaborates with manufacturing and finance teams to help determine appropriate payrates and bands for each job position
  • Assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and requirements pertaining to safety insurance, and employment
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management
  • Manages leave and disability programs consistent with state/federal laws
  • Provides support as a business partner to the operations teams
  • Manages the accurate filing of important documentation in employee’s personnel files
  • Collaborates with TemperPack’s Employee Engagement Manager to plan and lead employee engagement events and activities
  • Direct supervision of employees in all human resources functions in assigned locations
  • Facilitates the offboarding process for exiting employees
  • Manages HRIS and ATS platforms
  • Travel to other TemperPack facilities as needed
  • Other duties as necessitated by the business

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including payroll, benefits,
    employee relations, employment laws, recruiting, and compensation
  • A minimum of 10 years HR experience leading HR teams and processes, in a
    manufacturing company preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 15 pounds unassisted
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
